I'm thrilled to be staying in Roswell! It's a fascinating and welcoming place, with lots of references to aliens. Plus, there's a McDonald designed like a spaceship!
I am currently in my third week, and things are going smoothly. I have plenty of spare time to invest in my daily tasks. It is necessary to check my power station levels, charge equipment as needed, and check wastewater levels and empty them. It's definitely a good habit to have. I also monitor water and propane.
I have also been riding my gravel bike and practicing yoga regularly. I have really enjoyed the blogging. This has allowed me to journal and create something special for myself.
I plan to add a morning meditation next week. Additionally, I am relishing spending more time with my pets. We have really bonded and it has been wonderful watching them enjoy their new lives on the road and the freedom to be dogs and cats.
So much less stress for them too.
I purged again items that are more in the way and things I see are not necessary. I donate the items I don't need. I have reorganized things as I am learning how to live in "Van6ie".
The weather in Roswell has been in the 80's and the mornings are much warmer than last week, this is so nice. I can now go outside in the morning in just my pj's. I am not a fan of the cold, but after many nights camping to snowboard the next day you have to adjust your attitude towards the cold. I try to embrace it like a cold plunge.
So, I had this crazy goal for my trip to Roswell - to take a provocative photo in front of the Roswell Welcome sign! I even had a cute swimsuit to fit the occasion. The plan was to put on my " we cum in peace" bikini, lean out of the van with the sign in the background, and voila - mission accomplished! I mean, who wouldn't want a photo like that?! It was so much fun and the photos turned out hilarious. I feel like I'm living life to the fullest with these wacky adventures.
Other side notes:
We had the police called on us, the neighbors thought we were homeless living in the frisbee golf park.
I am caravanning with a friend from my Colorado Vanlife group, her name is Missy. It's been nice having a travel buddy. She is very kind and easygoing. She has a cat named Jake. Kanye and Jake have become friendly. We have been having a lot of fun!
I hope this message inspires you to pursue something you've always wanted to do. Thank you for taking the time to check in on us.
